Eating low calories does not automatically mean you will loose fat!
This is why.
1 - Under reporting, we are notoriously bad with under reporting calories, with overweight and obese people known to be worse at this.
2 - Holding water weight, this is quite common especially when replacing foods with foods containing artificial sweetners. Also note that stress, anxiety and broken sleep patterns have shown to affect water retention also.
3 - Reduced NEAT, when reducing calories in the pursuit of fat loss our NEAT (Non-Activity Exercise Thermogenisis) such as walking and fidgeting needs to remain high enough for those calories to be in a deficit. With the reduce of calories means a reduction of energy resulting in people physically doing less. .
These are the main reasons a reduction in calories is not resulting in weight loss.
